Lack of information causes fear. Fear of failure, fear of action, fear of death. Ignorance led Malton into an apocalypse. Information will lead Malton beyond it- whatever may be the end.

Urbandead.info is and independent entity from urbandead.com that aims to be a premier hub for interest in the Urban Dead meta-game.

Current tools include:

  • Iwitness, a "one click" tool for making records the function as both screen shots and full tactical information references. Records can be publicly shared, or kept as private as you like. The link above is to the FAQ, which explains how to "install" this tool- a 30 second process of creating to bookmarks!
  • Iwrecords, a repository of all "public" records made using Iwintess which you can browse through. IWrecords are indexed by the time of creation, and the record names include a summary of the location and the user comment (if any) given when the record was made.
  • udWidget, a Firefox / Greasemonkey tool that (so far) provides navigational info and mods links to zombie profiles so that the name is shown.
  • Free sub-domain hosting for individuals making tools that require HTML / PHP / sql hosting. Contact karek for more information.
  • Urban Dead Bookmarklets, a page that contains "links" to bookmarklets designed for or use when playing Urban Dead.

  • Latest News - 07 November 2009

    • The Maxmap has been taken down for updating and fixing of some issues with it that were causing larger site problems. Most of the database issues have been resolved and restored and the functions that were lost on 14 July 2008 are again working.

      14 July 2008

      • Urbandead.info is officially now 1 year old. It's had ups and downs. Iwitness still works, but lost a lot of the functions that were implemented by Max Grivas (as well as other site functions) when the database vanished. The code itself for those functions is (mostly) intact, and I could really use a good co-admin / coder to take on repairing that and / or various site cleanup jobs (like updating this page and clearing out logs).
As a 1 year celebration, I'm working on a database driven version of the wiki SIM page, so that's gonna take up most of my time.
